Melide /Mellid

Melide /Mellid: It is probably of a Roman origin and was repopulated by Alfonso IX in the 13th century. This is the point where the pilgrims on the French Way are joined by those that follow the Primitive Way.

  The most important charitable institutions in favour of the pilgrims have been the Sancti Spiritus Hospital, built in 1375 by the Franciscans and a leper hospital tended by the monk knights of the Order of Saint Lazaro

Melide : Posiblemente de origen romano y repoblado por Alfonso IX en el siglo XIII. Es aquí donde a los peregrinos del Camino Francés se les unen los del Camino Primitivo.

  Las más importantes instituciones benéficas en pro de los peregrinos han sido el Hospital de Sancti Spiritus fundado en 1375 por los Franciscanos y un Lazareto atendido por los monjes-caballeros de la Orden de San Lázaro.
